- I've has been active in the Italian American community since being introduced to John LaCorte Sr. in the early 1990s working with his organization and organizing a tribute to M. LaCorte shortly before his death. His Italian American activism was re-enforced when The New York City Mayor's office refused him a permit to honor Christopher Columbus in 1992 at Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan as part of the Quincentennial celebrations. Successfully forcing the mayor to change his position and issue the permit began what is now almost 20 years of active involvement in Italian American issues and struggles.
Currently I amis promoting a 10 year project to make the Italian language the equal of both French and German within the United States. His most ambitious project working with various notable Italian American leaders including Dr. Anthony Tamburri, Louis Tallarini and Joseph Sciame is labeled The Alberti Project to significantly increase Italian American power and influence throughout the United States for the purpose of creating an even better and fairer society for all.
My principal avocation is as founder and chairman of the Bowling Green Association in Lower Manhattan where he maintains his office and works on his various efforts.I am also author of two unpublished books that focus on the special qualities of the Bowling Green area. And Imam at work on a manuscript about the nature of the corporation and business in the 21st century.
