- I couldn't find a photo of myself I liked so I used my grandmother's wedding photo. I write nonfiction & poetry--Body Toxic, A Mind Apart, The Lives of the Saints, & Bardo are a few of my titles. Body Toxic probably deals with more Italian-American issues than any other. My son, adopted, is Korean by race--we eat Korean food, Italian food, Southern food (my husband's from Macon Georgia) . . . it's all soul food.
