Join us on July 3 in Washington D.C. for "Domestic Violence Awareness Day at the Park" with the Washington Nationals!
Did you know one in three women are affected by domestic violence during their lifetime?
Help take a stance against domestic violence with us! Join Becky's Fund and the Nationals on July 3, 2009 for Domestic Violence Awareness Day when the Nationals take on the Atlanta Braves. Game is from 6:30-9:30 and fireworks are included!
We have selected Vice President Joe Biden as the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from Becky’s Fund and will present him or his surrogate with the award that evening in front of a live audience of more than 20,000 fans. By highlighting domestic violence and honoring the sponsors and supporters of the Violence Against Women Act and the reauthorization of VAWA in 2010 at this event, we hope to bring awareness to this issue and generate grassroots support for both local and federal efforts working on domestic violence.
Autographed items, t-shirts and more will be raffled, along with an opportunity to join the Nats for batting practice. Sponsorship packages are still available - please e-mail becky@beckysfund.org for information on how to purchase them. For groups of 20 or more, please contact Katherine Mitchell 202-640-7649 or katherine.mitchell@nationals.com.
We are seeking other sponsors and want to maximize our ability to make an impact – this is where we need your help. If you are interested in being a sponsor for this event, please contact Becky at becky@beckysfund.org.
We need to show a strong front against domestic violence - please join us at this game to show our community that we do not find domestic violence acceptable!
